Waiting on Wednesday

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Waiting on Wednesday has become one of my two favorite memes because it gives me the opportunity to find out about so many books I hadn’t heard anything about. I can’t tell you how many books I’ve added to my “to read” list, bought, borrowed, or won because I first learned about them through Waiting on Wednesday! I hope I’m able to do the same for someone else.

My Waiting on Wednesday picks for this week are:

Heaven can go to hell.

Until her cousin slaughtered the supernal family, Anazakia’s father ruled the Heavens, governing noble Host and Fallen peasants alike. Now Anazakia is the last grand duchess of the House of Arkhangel’sk, and all she wants is to stay alive.
Hunted by Seraph assassins, Anazakia flees Heaven with two Fallen thieves—fire demon Vasily and air demon Belphagor, each with their own nefarious agenda—who hide her in the world of Man. The line between vice and virtue soon blurs, and when Belphagor is imprisoned, the unexpected passion of Vasily warms her through the Russian winter.
Heaven seems a distant dream, but when Anazakia learns the truth behind the celestial coup, she will have to return to fight for the throne—even if it means saving the man who murdered everyone she loved

The Fallen Queen by Jane Kindred is yet another fascinating book being published by Entangled Publishing. There are so many of their books on my wishlist, I might as well just add their entire catalog! This sounds like a bit of epic fantasy meets paranormal romance with the added bonus of angels, demons, and a crazy intense plot. I can’t wait to read it!

The Fallen Queen is to be released on December 6, 2011 by Entangled Publishing

NEWSOUL

Ana is new. For thousands of years in Range, a million souls have been reincarnated over and over, keeping their memories and experiences from previous lifetimes. When Ana was born, another soul vanished, and no one knows why.

NOSOUL

Even Ana’s own mother thinks she’s a nosoul, an omen of worse things to come, and has kept her away from society. To escape her seclusion and learn whether she’ll be reincarnated, Ana travels to the city of Heart, but its citizens are suspicious and afraid of what her presence means. When dragons and sylph attack the city, is Ana to blame?

HEART

Sam believes Ana’s new soul is good and worthwhile. When he stands up for her, their relationship blooms. But can he love someone who may live only once, and will Ana’s enemies—human and creature alike—let them be together? Ana needs to uncover the mistake that gave her someone else’s life, but will her quest threaten the peace of Heart and destroy the promise of reincarnation for all?
Jodi Meadows expertly weaves soul-deep romance, fantasy, and danger into an extraordinary tale of new life.

Incarnate by Jodi Meadows sounds just absolutely incredible. It sounds like its an exciting combination of sci-fi and fantasy. Dragons and sylphs and souls and reincarnation….yeah, count me in! I am dying to read this one!! Oh, and I haven’t even mentioned this fantabulous cover! From her eyes, to the wings, to the lips, this cover is just all around win for me.

Incarnate is to be released January 31, 2012 by Harper Collins.
